Idea Guys
Some people are Idea Guys/Gals. These are the people that come up with all the ideas for the future. Where things will be in the future. If you are in a company they are the people that direct the future of your business. Having and Proposing Good Ideas is a learned skill that not everyone possesses.
However Some people get put in positions of power within or government or within business what do not possess this skill. And for those of us without Power who possess the skill to Have Good ideas and Propose them it is difficult to watch these powerful people make such bad and ill formed decisions. It is also hard to watch them propose absolutely horrible ideas that will never work.
The problem is that the people that are close to these people of power do not have the courage to stand up to them and say that there idea stinks.
These Idiots really have nothing better to do in some cases than sit around and make up horrible ideas that benefit no one and cause everyone a whole lot of work. They take no thought of what the consequences of there decision will be on those people actually imposing the idea or even what will happen to those people that will supposedly benefit from the idea. In most cases this results in benefit to no one and harm to all.
So me careful to make sure that when you are in a position of power to not let your ideas get out of hand. Make sure that the people doing the work for you have the ability to do the work, and that the people that are supposed to benefit from your super idea are actually going to benefit.
PERHAPS THE IDEA SHOULD BE TESTED, rather than being thrown in without a second thought into your business or our government.

Just a random thought I'm sure. But you are assuming that the decision makers would alter their approach if they realized the consequences of their approach or that others had a completely different point of view.
Sometimes good ideas are not popular ones. Some bad ideas are popular. The trick is to be open to getting your head punched in for suggesting something unpopular, listen and debate the issue. (and yes you should do this even if you are in charge) If you can get anybody to talk about it. That's the hard part. Agreeing with something unpopular can get a person in a lot of trouble with "Pinheads". (PinHead - an individual who "knows" that he/she has it all figured out, no new ideas needed.)
Some folks propose radical ideas to get a discussion going to just sit back and see how people respond.
Many folks will do "anything" to avoid a debate. Those folks will just agree or say nothing. There are really more of these people than those who have hidden agendas. Great leaders get this group talking (or try).
You are right, however there are people out there who have a "My way or the Highway" mentality. With these folks you follow the rules or you’re gone. That's life and it happens a lot. With these folks sometimes the only thing you can do is agree with them at the outset and then influence them in a different direction once your "in".
