Boring Bowl

Its almost time for Boring bowl. For those of you who are not close to me "Boring bowl" is a annual football game played in my home town by all of my very closest friends and I. The reason for the word Boring is that my friends and I usually gathered centrally at the Boring's house. The borings are a family of 4 brothers all close in age who seemed to collect friends as family like it was there job. I am included in this family as are all of my closest friends. Each year we make it a point to get together in the form of a game of football. In previous years the game has been held at the boring household. But over the last few years we have conducted activities at the local high school which we all attended.

I don't know what it is, but this is one of my most favorite days of the year. No matter what is going on in my life or how old I get on this one day on the day after thanksgiving, I feel 16 and forget all my worries. I am with the people that I love the most outside of my family and doing something I love.

There is some banter that happens and its all in good fun, but for the most part it is all about football, catching up, and good times.

It is only the middle of October and there are already e-mails going around about the game. I am so excited.

What special things happen in your life that you look forward to each year?

There is no greater Holiday than Thanksgiving because Boring Bowl makes the holiday about what holidays should always be about: enjoying the people you love most in the world. I just hope you don't dislocate your finger this year.
